Nova Scotia...my true home and nat's

Over Christmas I was BEYOND blessed to be able to go to the East Coast and visit my parents, family and friends. I hadn't been back in the Maritimes for Christmas in 8 years, needless to say this trip was long overdue.
As I was driving in to Nova Scotia I stopped to see an old friend...as I was driving through the back roads of Truro/Bible Hill area I felt as though I were living my own real life "Sweet Home Alabama". This was the place where I started my 20+ year career as a student! I was shocked at how much of the area I still remembered - restaurants, streets, businesses, random little details and directions. It was such a surreal feeling to know that this was a place that I once called home. Even though I have been back numerous times it was almost as though I were visiting again for the first time.

All that to say, it wasn't shocking to realise that I fell in love with the Maritimes all over again. I have always thought Canada to be such a striking nation overall but forgot about Nova Scotia in the snow covered winter. As much as I had an incredible time and loved the snow, the cold and the feeling of familiarity I realised that there was no way I could move back there. I am an East Coast tainted West Coaster through and through! I left NS thanking the Lord that my roots are there and for the parts of me that are unique to my East Coast rearing.
